意思是对的,只是except用的不太合适
except for 后面接的概念一般都和主语不是同一类事物,这里的shadow表示的是anything中的一个事物,所以用except比较合适
而且楼主可以直接写nothing but the shadow 更为简单

面对 用 face to 或者直接 face 都可以 except for 是错的
