不是不可以加.
go to school 是指去上学.
go to the school 是指去学校.就不一定是指去上课啦.
类似的还有 hospital(不加the就是去看病,加了就是单纯地指去医院）
再比如 court(不加the就是去法院,起诉之类的,加了就是指去医院,强调去.）
而一楼所说的home前不加定冠词则是因为 home是副词.在这里不是名词.
习惯用法。 另，I am going home.
school和home一样是名词 [c/u]……
前面是不加定冠词the的……
而 beach、zoo则是简单的名词，则要加the……
不加the说明你是其中一员，在那里学习或工作，school前不加the说明你是学生，去上学的意思，加the表明你去这个学校，但不是那里学生。
go to school表示去上学，go to the school表示去学校，不一定是去上学，可以是找老师啊领成绩啊什麼别的事
