First I guess it would be fair to explain why I needed to understand love in the first place. I'll make it short and just say I have had a series of no good men in my life, both family and friends. I came to the idea of understanding love when I discovered I could not love. At lest not like the average bear, It was like I had a forcefield around my heart. Deep inside I would not let myself get close to people in a romantic way for fear of the heartache and drama.
So, I decided to understand it in order to maybe talk myself into letting it happen.
To everyone it is different, it's like a religious experience, you can't explain it unless you've been there, and even if you can explain, it's vague and confusing. It's like that feeling when you go over the first big hill in a roller coaster, but it's comforting and scary, it's so many feelings and emotions you are almost numbed by it. It's one feeling you can feel for everyone, but with everyone it is a different feeling, you can't love your Dad like you love your Sunday School Teacher. It's everything and nothing, it itself is insane and unable to understand, but with never understanding comes a understanding. If you can understand that.

The bad thing that people do is to try to find a romantic partner in order to fill a gap that they feel is in their life, and when your searching for something, you will never find it, you have to let it come to you.
