这句话的正确原形应当是这样：It is still a question whether she will come or not.现在我们很容易划分句子各个成份：it形式主语,就是由whethe(if)引导的之后的全部做真正主语.整个复合句为以先行词whether引导的条件状语从句.那么自然whether后面的成份就做了状语从句.而whether=if只做这种句型固定用的先行词,是其后面从句的固定部分,并不可以把whether单独拿出来做一个成份.然而这种Whether she will come or not is still a question.形式只是倒装形式,相当于中文里面的状语前置,是一种英文的汉化架构,因此这种形式在正式英语当中并不可取.建议笔者准确使用英语的标准形式.这样有助于让中文学生真正学会英语实际运用.
