The first time I volunteered to plant trees and paint a house.
My first volunteering experience was a remarkable memory in my life. It lasted for five days. We travelled to another city to help the people rebuild their home. Hurricane Katrina Destroyed everything in that city. They were very thankful seeing us actually help out with the reconstruction. We lived in a church during the five days. They asked us to plant lots of tree in a neighborhood in the first two days. It was a challenge work because none of us had plant a tree before. Yet everyone enjoy the process because we all learned something new. Also, we are happy that we can help others. In addition, we helped a family repainted their house. This was a fun experience except the fact that our arms were very sore in the end of the day. In general, volunteering is a very interesting and fun experience. We can not only try to do something we have never done before, but also learn to give back to the community. There are a lot of people out there who needs help. They belong to our community and should not be left out. Therefore we should help them with no cost.
