My Favorite Book

My favorite book is The Adventure of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain. Tom Sawyer is a lively and clever young boy. He lives with his auntie Polly. His untie is very strict with him, so he runs to an island in the middle of the Mississippi River with two friends, Huck Finn and Joe. With Huck, he goes looking for treasure, with Beck, he gets lost in a cave, and finally they find a box of gold.

Tom is the hero of the story, but there are other important characters. Huck is an outsider, Beck is pretty with fair hair, Joe is Tom’s best friend, and Injun Joe is the bad man of the story.

The theme of the story are to do with children growing up and becoming more serious.

Wang Junxia

Wang Junxia was born on January 19,1973 in a village in Liaoning Province. She is 1.62 meters tall. When she was fifteen, Wang Junxia went to Dalian Sports School and began to train as a long-distance runner. In 1994,Wang Junxia won a gold medal at the Asia Games in Japan and in 1996 won a gold medal and a silver medal at the Olympic Games in the USA. She became the first

sportswoman to win a gold medal in the long-distance running event for China at the Olympic Games.

An Unforgettable Travel

I went to Hainan Province with my parents last Summer vacation. It took us about three hours to get there by bus. We spent a week there. It was really wonderful trip. And I would never forget it. I went to the beach with my parents. We went swimming in the sea, went fishing and boating. We also walked on the beautiful beach and built a sand castle. We had different kinds of sea food there. People there were friendly to us. So I really had a wonderful and unforgettable trip.

As we all know, the world develops quicker than before. Nowadays mobile phones are becoming more and more popular among the middle school students. Some students think that it is easy to use them to keep in touch with parents and classmates. Also, they can be used to listen to music or take photos. But others think that we don’t need to talk with parents and classmates with mobile phones, because we meet them everyday. And mobile phones may influence our study.

This is one of photos of my hometown that I have taken. I love my hometown very much, so I often take photos of it. This one is my favorite.

My hometown is a small village near Zhujiang River. It is in the southeast of Guangdong. I love it very much. The air is so fresh that you won’t want to leave if you have a chance to go there. There are also small bridges over the river. Both of the sides of the river are planted with beautiful flowers and green trees. Sometimes you can even see some birds flying in the sky.

My parents think that the environmental protection should be cared about by everyone. We should do everything to protect our environment at home. There are many ways to do it. For example, we use a solar water heater instead of an electric water heater so that we can save energy. We can also use CFLs instead of light bulbs. We don’t throw away paper or bottles but we collect them to sell them . It is also a way for me to get pocket money. Mum always uses cloth bags for shopping but never uses plastic bags.

We think if every one of us cares about the environment , we will create a better condition to live in.

It is reported that the number of the world population is increasing by 80 million each year. And it may double in the next fifty years. But the area of the earth can’t be made larger. The natural resources can’t increase as well. How to meet the needs of so many people has become a problem. In a family, there are some disadvantages of having more children. For example, the parents can’t supply their kids with better food and clothes because of their certain income. On the other hand, the kids have to share much of their energy and effort to try their best to work for the society. Isn’t it a serious problem we need to do with right now?

As a student, I know I need a healthy body and mind. With the development of science, there are many kinds of food. But most of them are junk food. Typical meals include rice,dumplings, meat and vegetables and a little meat. Too much meat contains too much fat which is bad for health.
