Life is like (Chiness) chess,I wish to be the soldier,go forward slowly but never back off.
In life, as in chess, I am willing to pawn, action though slow, but couldn't back half step

本身这句话 就是有问题的！ 人生如棋 是古之铭言 说的应该是围棋 人生更像是下围棋 一招不慎 满盘皆输 也说的是围棋 更像是人生 象棋是没有这样的意境的 而卒子是出自象棋之中的 所以这句话 本身就很矛盾！！

chess 表示“象棋”，a game of chess 的意思是“一局棋” ；
人生如X，很常见，英语中一般都用“Life is (just) like xxx” 或 “Life is xxx” 但是我没有采用这个句式，因为整首诗的主题是你作为棋子应该怎么做，所以我觉得用假设句比较好，似乎也更符合英语的说话习惯。
我愿为卒：
pawn 专指象棋中的“卒”的一个棋子，chessman棋子 chessboard棋盘
注记2：
前两行是假设，用虚拟语气，i were 和life were都没有用错。
倒数两行用倒装，语法也没错。而且写英文诗的人都喜欢这么写。
直译过来：
如果人生是一盘棋，而我是一颗棋子，我愿选择做一个“卒”。
虽然每次的步伐很小很小，但是永远不会向后走。
意译：
人生如棋，我愿为卒，行动虽慢，却不曾后退半步。
怎么样？没有任何扭曲和歧义，看着还挺优美的。
