A 90-second oral presentation answering the questions:
If you could make a movie, what kind of genre of film would you choose, what would be the film’s name and basic plot and what one actor or two actors would you choose? What would make your film more popular than others? Finally, what would the film’s one-line advertising slogan be?

Well, these are my thoughts.
Main content:
If I have a chance to make a movie of my own, I would like it to be a fantasy like Lord of the Ring or Narnia. It should be based on the Chinese legends and the plot of the whole story must be complete, understandable, meaningful and attractive.
For I have known some ancient Chinese myths and the one draws most of my attention is the story of Gan-Jiang and Mo-Ye.(干宝-搜神记-干将莫邪的故事)Our great author Lu Xun has written a more comprehensive and contemparory version of the old legend and named it "Sword-forging"(鲁迅-故事新编-铸剑). I am going to name after Mr.Lu Xun's great work but simplify it in to a single word which will be "Sword". So my film is titled "Sword" and telling a soul-striking legend of the ancient Chinese people.
Let me tell you the story in brief. Gan-Jiang and Mo-Ye were a couple living in the mountains of southern China. They owned their living by making swords for the nobles such as kings and knights in the empire. Regarded as the top sword-makers, Gan was one day asked to make the best sword in the world for the emperor. The material was given and it was incredibly born by the emperess. Gan had no choice but to accept the offer. Unexpectedly, Gan foresaw that the emperor would kill him after receiving the great sword. As a result, instead of making one best sword, Gan created a pair and gave away only the Emperess-sword to keep the other one, the Emperor-sword. Before going to the capital, Gan told wife Mo the truth of the Twin swords and his fatal destiny. At the moment, Mo was pregnant, bearing Gan's child. So she promised her love to revenge with the other sword, if she gave birth to a son. Years after Gan's death, the couple's only child Chi was grown to a determined young man and Mo found it the time to tell him what happened to his father Gan and his destiny to revenge for his father. Chi felt outrageous and he wanted the emperor to pay the debt right away. He set about to fulfill the mission and in the way, met a strange swordman named Yan who was willing to revenge for him and his family with only one exchange, which was the head of Chi. Chi knew he was too young and unexperienced to accomplish this hard task and Yan seemed worthy of trust in. Finally, Chi made the decision to sacrifice himself for Yan's to achieve his goal. Yan cut off Chi's head with the Emperor sword Chi gave him, carefully held it and went straight to the capital. Above all, the story sounds nothing unusual. Because the climax was just coming. Yan went to see the emperor in the excuse of showing him something interesting to see. He asked the people in the palace to set up a pot with boiling water to let Chi's head in. Chi was singing in the pot and this drew the emperor's attention to come nearer to see and hear. As soon as he came to the pot, Yan chopped his head into the water and it went down immediately. To everybody's surprise, Yan also cut off his own head and got into the water shortly after the drop of the previous one. Then, the three horrible head was fighting, two against one. Not until the emperor was beaten by Chi and Yan, they kept whirling in the water, chasing and biting. In the end, the others at present were come to themselves and suddenly realized that they should classify the remains of the heads. Of course, only the emperor's had the honor to gain a marvelous tomb. Unfortunately, it became impossible for them to part the three so they buried them in the same tomb entitled "The Grave of Three Kings".
It is a quite long story to tell, but I really like it to be filmed. I might consider Huang-XiaoMing to cast Chi, Chen-DaoMing as Yan the swordman and
Tony Leung Chiu Wai as the emperor. These three actors are among the the greatest ones in the recent years, and all of them have remarkable skills and also appearances.
Both the story and the special effect especially for the scenes of head chopping could be the key to success. Also without the acting and editing, the story won't come out as I supposed. Containing the elements of horror, fantasy, revenge, voilence and thrill, I am sure that the young generation of the world will love this movie, despite the fact that it tells an old story.
In addition, I might mix in some love story in the film. The sentimental part would possibly be the affection between the sword-making couple.
After all, I would like to have an outstanding slogan for my movie. That's it: "Awakes the emperor, begins the revenge."
Thank you for listening.
Thank you for reading. Hope this could help.
差点忘了……还有无聊的演员表:
尺 黄晓明
宴 陈道明
王 梁朝伟
(其他人物不算重要人物,暂时被我忽略掉了……不太看电视和国产电影,就知道那么几个人.)
