如果楼主的句子没写错的话,我觉得逗号后面就不应该是个含有谓语的句子,因为逗号不具有连词功能,而前半句已经有一个谓语动词了.
我的理解是,后半句其实是more evidence后面跟了一个同位语,然后that are hard to detect and pinpoint是修饰the evolution of begging calls的定语从句.

evidence貌似是data的同位语.这里如果加了and的话evidence 和 data就是并列结构.
