People who cannot accept criticism from others can not be successful at working
in a group.
According to this problem,I want to point out that different situations lead
to different outcomes.Let me separate this problem into two extremely ends.
One is that people totally cannot accept any others’ suggestions and only
sticks to his or her own idea,while the other is the one who is an extremely
softhead and follows whatever he or she heard.Both two kinds of people are not
suitable being put into to a group work.One should make a balance between
accepting or not according to a certain situation.But in most cases,in order
to work effectively to achieve the goal of group,one should accept criticism
from others.There are three reasons followed.

Firstly,
only person’s
inner merit is took into consideration.People
who could accept criticism from others in a modest manner are always been
regarded as responsible ones.
Thus,others will be more willing to keep intouch with [r1] This kind of people
and share more burdens in the group work
according to the equality theory.For instance,once an assignment relied on
group working was given by my professor and I was the leader of my group.I
divided the work into several parts and distributed it according tomumbers’ specialties.Xiao Wang
is not good at this assignment,but he always accepted suggestions and
criticisms from us even though we pointed out his misstakes .Consequently,we
still like to invite him working together and willing to sacrifice our time and
effort to help him.
Secondly,
whatever how smart a person is,knowledge,time and energy an individual
possess are limited.The one of the biggest advantage of group work is that one
could make up another’s shortages and maximum the advantages.That means the competitiveness
of group was increased,which definitely make group success.And to some
degrees,individual’s success depends on group success
so that one could meet self-actualization in a group.
Last but not the least,I want to regard the term ‘accept’ as a modest attitude that if you really do something wrong,you
should accept others’ criticism and correct it,if not,
regard it as a warning ring.In fact,even a wrong advise,listen to it anyway.
Correct mistakes if you have made any and guard against them if you have not.
Do like this will make you welcome in the group and create a harmonious
atmosphere.Why not just accept others’ criticisms?
It
is not easy for a person to accept all criticisms from other members,if one
could ‘accept’ all,that means he or she acquire such good merits like tolerance,
modest and wisdom,which enable person to achieve personal success in a groupworking.
