这个地方其实是一个惯用法了
要说beats完全不正确是不对的,原因正像楼主说的那样,例句也给出来了,只能说matches在这里更好一些,说白了,就是语言的习惯,大家都这么说.
如果硬要给个解释,在下只好尝试着分析一下词义了
beat的常用义是打败而match的常用义配对
显然这里的意思应该是比得上,也就是match引申出来的配的上.如果用了beat的话,hotel本身其实不存在打败不打败的问题,要说是打败也是hotel 的服务啊,装潢啊这些细节方面能被“打败”.
但是显然这已经实在咬文嚼字了,其实这就是一个语言搭配上的习惯.

个人认为，这里完全可以用beats
