其实,不管是previous还是previously,正确的都不是直接用的.
如果说是previous：
differnent from the previous___ （名词）
比如说,different from the previous exam --> 跟前面的考试不一样.
如果是previously：
different from the previously___（动词）
比如：different from previously stated,____(主语跟主句) --> 跟前面所说的不一样,巴拉巴拉
所以说,这两个的用法取决于他们后面的词,跟differ没关系.
如果硬要说”与前者不同“的话,比较常听到的是different from the previous,但是这里的用法就是后面的名词直接省略了,previous当代名词用.
如果要用differs的话.类似it differs from the previous in that...才行,但是意思不大一样,之前different只是说两者有不同,differ.in that后面的怎样不同才是重点.如果不加后面的.语句就不完整.
其实,你如果是写文章的话,直接用on the other hand之类的是最方便的,不然就直接说different from _____（你那个前者是什么酒填什么）,这样也最能避免读者看不懂.
