THE PRAYER BY THE SEA
During the summer of 2003,there was a rare epidemic named SARS across the whole nation.Some of Alice’s relatives and friends also caught this disease.They had to live in the hospital.According to the regulation,Alice was not allowed to stay around them.Alice felt very sad,she stayed up every night.
The epidemic was very serious,the whole city was full of panic.Many people outstayed their welcome.Every day all the public places must be sprayed with liquid medicine.Many citizens bought all kinds of medicine to prevent SARS.The Chinese medicine was here to stay.
SARS brought endless troubles to the people’s daily life,the society was out of order .But for the naughty students,it was not a bad thing,because they needn’t stay after school.
One day,Alice got the bad news that Ursula caught SARS too,she had been sent to the hospital urgently in the morning.That happened so suddenly.Alice stayed put when heard that.Alice worried about her best friend very much.
At night ,Alice can not sleep well by herself.She went to the seaside.Alice prayed for her friends.Facing the sprays on the sea,Alice hoped that her prayers could be answered.Alice wished Ursula can stay the course and recover soon!
海边的祈祷
2003年的夏天,一种被称为“非典型性肺炎”的传染病席卷全国.爱丽斯的好多亲朋好友都患了这种疾病.他们都必须住在医院里.根据规定,爱丽斯不能靠近他们.爱丽斯感到非常悲伤,每天晚上她都无法入睡.
“非典”这种疾病非常厉害,整个城市陷入了恐慌之中.如果有人拜访别人待的时间过长的话,就会不再被欢迎.所有的公共场所每天必须要喷洒药水.很多市民们为了预防”非典”购买了各种各样的药品.中药受到了普遍使用.
“非典”给人们带来了麻烦.社会也很混乱.但是对于学校里的调皮学生来说,这也并不是一件坏事,因为他们用不着在放学后被留在学校了.
一天,爱丽斯听说厄休拉也被感染上了”非典”,她在早晨被紧急送往医院.这件事发生得太突然了.爱丽斯听说后一动也不动.她十分地担忧自己最好的朋友.
