1.表示否定其一：
You can't eat your cake and have it.（谚语）鱼和熊掌不可兼得/ 你不可能既吃蛋糕又拥有蛋糕.
2.不做了前一个动作又左后一个动作：
Don't drink and drive.不要酒后开车.
3.表示同时：
She can't sing and dance.她不能边唱边跳.
without food and water要看上下文而定.一般表示否定其中的一项内容.

and用于否定句时,得看情况.
如果and前是don't/can't/be not的话,那就是否定前面的肯定后面的.如果and前面是no来作为否定的话,那就是全都否定.
There is no food and water.食物和水都没有.
