关于周杰伦的
Jay Chou ( 周杰伦,Born Jan.18,1979) is a popular Taiwanese musician and singer specializing in R&B and rap. Also known as the King of Chinese music,he is known for combining both Chinese and Western musical styles to produce a fresh sound that is quite unlike what is produced in mainstream Taiwanese pop,and also for his unique lyrics which touch on various issues. For example,in 爸我回来了 "Dad I am Back",domestic violence is mentioned,in 梯田 "Rice Fields",eco-awareness is mentioned, and in 止战之殇 "Wounds of War",the destructiveness of war is mentioned.Jay's music is popular throughout Asia, most notably Taiwan.
Jay was raised by his mother who was a teacher in a high school.Showing interest in music,he began learning to play piano at the age of 3.While he was a third-grade student in elementary school,he developed an interest in cello and had daily cello lessons. His mother took him to concerts to develop his taste for music. When he was 14,his parents got divorced; as a result,he became very independent, quiet and anti-social.Jay majored in piano and minored in cello in Dan Jiang senior high school. This provided him a great foundation of classical music.
Jay first entered the music industry when he appeared in a talent show as a pianist with his friend.Although their performance wasn't exceptional, the producer saw talent in the music composition written by Jay and decided to give him a chance. He was initially hired to write music for others, including Vivian Hsu and Jody Chiang.Although many of his songs became popular, most people were unaware that they were his creations.
In 2000,Jay was given his chance to produce an album of his own.He released his first album Jay,which, much to everyone's surprise, became an instant hit.It gained great attention in Taiwan as well as the international Han Chinese community. When his second album Fantasy was released,he was already among one of the top pop stars in the Asian community. His most critically and financially successful album as of yet is his third,Eight Dimensions.
Since entering the music industry,Chou has been romantically linked to an array of female celebrities, such as Jolin Tsai,Vivian Hsu,and Hebe from S.H.E.In February 2005,Chou was photographed with entertainment host,Patty Hou,shopping in Japan. After a splurge of media attacks,Chou allegedly admitted to being in a relationship with Hou.However, from May to July of 2006,both sides coldly stated,"I never said we were together." This has caused both fans and the media to speculate about the present status of the couple's relationship

1Internet Civilization
Good afternoon, ladies and gentleman! First I want to say is that I’m very proud of to be invited to to present my topic here, which is “ Internet Civilization”.
Before I begin my topic, please allow me to ask you a question: Every time you click the mouse to surf the web, do you know what does it mean?I think most of you don't.
On the net, you can make friends overseas and call them with IP phones; you can get information from all over the world; you can even give a hand to some people in troubles and get help when in need.
However, we have to admit that internet also leads to intimacy before acquaintance; it scatters secrets outwards, not inwards; and, most worrying of all, it is a vehicle for liars.
Here we should see, there exists good and evil, right and wrong on the web. As netizens, we’d better grow to realize the importance of Internet Civilization.
Just as the famous saying goes “Long and steep is the path to virtue.” Many people advocate that we should be sincere, honest and responsible in our society—the real world. Now, what I want to add is that we also should obey the primary moral principles in this virtual world.
All of my dear friends here, on the internet, which role did you play? Which role are you playing? And which role will you play?
That's all.Thank you very much!
2Smile
everyone! To be frank,my spoken English is not very well, but I still come here, becauce I don't want to lose a good chance to improve my English.Nwo,I will talk something about Smile
Before you do everything, smile first.
When you need some help, you should say: "Excuse me." At the same time,if you show your unhappy face, he will be unhappy too. How can you get the help while he has no pleasure7 So show your smile, and you will get his help.
In fact, smile is a difficult job. It seems very difficult for you to smile when you are sad. Don’t be afraid. Make up your mind to try once, only once, and you will find that you are much better in heart.
Smile is also a kind of language which cannot be heard by anyone, but persons always know its meaning. When you meet your friends in the morning, smile means "Good morning ! "When you fail, the friend’s smile means "Have another try !" So when you smile, although you don’t say any word, you can understand:each other.
Remember to smile, and happy life you’ll get, I think!
3Ladies and Gentlemen:
My topic is on creating a brilliant Beijing: Time for Action
2008 is such a common number, but many Chinese will get excited when they mention it. How can a common number attract such a strange fascination? The answer is simple and obvious: the twenty-ninth Olympic Game will be held in Beijing in the year 2008. At that time, the whole world will focus their attentions on Beijing. As the hostess, Beijing will show her beauty to the guests from all over the world.
The Beijing Olympic Games will be a Green Olympic, a high technology Olympic, and a people's Olympic. Among them, a Green Olympic is the most important concept. It will show the world the determination, the ability, and the confidence of the Chinese people and their government to successfully hold a Green Olympic. To achieve such a goal, however, it needs a lot of hard work.
As middle school students in Beijing, we should take on more responsibilities for our capital city's environment. Any action we take will affect the appearance of the city. Therefore, we should start with ourselves, act now, and make every possible effort. But how? You may ask.
There are a lot of things we can do in our daily lives. We all know the fact that
Beijing is frequently assaulted by sand storms every year. Forests and lands have been degraded by agricultural and industrial activities. To revive those desert lands is beyond our ability, but we can plant trees around our schools or in our neighborhood communities. If everybody does so, there will be a green Beijing and we will have a Green Olympic.
I don't know whether you've noticed that some students don't want to walk to school; their parents have to drive them to school every day. But nowadays, the air is polluted with automobile exhausts. What can we do about it? Ride on your bike to school and enjoy exercise! It will not only have significant benefits for your health, but also help improving our environment. In addition, if you don't drive cars, you will not go to the car wash. That will save large amount of water. If everybody does something, there will be a green Beijing and we will have a Green Olympic.
Think it over, my friends. The things we can do are definitely not unrealistic. Although we cannot provide with a clean energy source, achieve a better sewage treatment system, or stop any industry from using hazardous chemicals and releasing hazardous wastes, we can save every drop of water and protect every patch of green. Make Beijing a more beautiful city, where green patches are everywhere and blue sky can be seen clearly above our heads.
A Green Beijing Olympic is asking for action. Act now.
Thank you!
4Knowing the Consequences of Choice
选择的重要性
Over the past Spring Festival, I got involved in a family dispute. Right before I got home, four satellite channels of CCTV were added to the 14 channels we had already had. In prime time at night, they all had interesting shows. Therefore, the five of us-my parents, my sisters and I-had to argue over what to watch. Finally, we agreed that we should watch the "most interesting" programme... If we
could agree what that was.
However, all of us there remember that for a long time after we had TV, there were only one or two channels available. The increase in options reveals an important change in our life: the abundance of choice.
Fifteen years ago we all dressed in one style and in one colour. Today, we select from a wide variety of designs and shades.
Fifteen years ago, we read few newspapers. Today, we read English newspapers like the China Daily and the 21st Century, as well as various Chinese newspapers.
Fifteen years ago, English majors took only courses in language and literature. Today, we also study Western culture, journalism, business communications, international relations, and computer science.
The emergence of choices marks the beginning of a new era in China's history; an era of diversity, of material and cultural richness, and an era of the rebirth of the Chinese nation.
We enjoy the abundance of choice. But this has not come easily.
About 150 years ago, China was forced to open up its door by Western canons and gunboats. It has been through the struggle and sacrifice of generations that we finally have gained the opportunity to choose for ourselves. The policy of reform and openness is the choice that has made all the difference.
Like others of my age, I'm too young to have experienced the time when the Chinese people had no right to choose. However, as the next century draws near, it is time to ask: What does choice really mean to us young people?
Is choice a game that relies on chance or luck? Is choice an empty promise that never materializes? Or is choice a puzzle so difficult that we have to avoid it?
First, I would like to say: To choose means to claim opportunities.
I am a third-year English major. An important choice for me, of course, is what to do upon graduation. I can go to graduate school, at home or abroad. I can go to work as a teacher, a translator, a journalist, an editor and a diplomat. Actually, the system of mutual selection has allowed me to approach almost every career opportunity in China.
Indeed, this is not going to be an easy choice. I would love to work in such big cities as Beijing or Shanghai or Shenzhen. I would also love to return to my hometown, which is intimate, though slightly lagging in development. I would love to stay in the coastal area where life is exciting and fast-paced. I would also love to put down roots in central and western China, which is underdeveloped, but holds
great potential.
All of these sound good. But they are only possibilities. To those of us who are bewildered at the abundance of opportunities, I would like to say: To choose means to accept challenge.
To us young people, challenge often emerges in the form of competition. In the next century, competition will not only come from other college graduates, but also from people of all ages and of all origins.
With increasing international exchanges, we have to face growing competition from the whole outside world. This is calling for a higher level of our personal development.
Fifteen years ago, the knowledge of a foreign language or of computer operation was considered merely an advantage. But today, with wider educational opportunities, this same knowledge has become essential to everyone.
Given this situation, even our smallest choices will require great wisdom and personal determination.
As we gain more initiative in choice making, the consequence of each choice also becomes more important.
As we gain more initiative in choice making, the consequence of each choice also becomes more important.
Nuclear power, for instance, may improve our quality of life. But it can also be used to damage the lives and possessions of millions.
Economic development has enriched our lives but brought with it serious harm to our air, water and health.
To those of us who are blind to the consequences of their choices, I would like to say, To choose means to take responsibility. When we are making choices for ourselves, we cannot casually say: "It's just my own business. " As policy makers of the next century, we cannot fail to see our responsibility to those who share the earth with us.
The traditional Chinese culture teaches us to study hard and work hard so as to honor our family. To me, however, this family is not just the five of us who quarreled over television programmes. Rather, it is the whole of the human family. As I am making my choices, I will not forget the smile of my teacher when I correctly spelled out the word "China" for the first time, I will not forget the happy faces of the boys and girls we helped to send back to school in the mountains of Jiangxi Province. I will not forget the tearful eyes of women and children in Bosnia, Chechnya and Somali, where millions are suffering from war, famine or poverty.
All these people, known and unknown, make up our big human family. At different points, they came into my life and broaden my perspective. Now as I am to make choices for myself, it is time to make efforts to improve their lives, because a world will benefit us all only if every one in it can lead a peaceful and prosperous life.
5Good Afternoon, Ladies and Gentlemen!
I am so honored to address you here. I know that you can’t wait a minute more than you have to, to see the wonderful programs that will follow my talk. And neither can I. Therefore I promise that my address will not be too long. I just want to tell you a story. That’s it. No big deal.

As you may know, having a blog is very popular now. People use the blog to record their life. I recently read the blog of a couple who traveled in Sep 2005 to the Pamirs and the Tibetan Plateau. Within 25 days, they drove themselves to these two altiplanos with the altitude of more than 5,000 meters. You may think a road trip in the family car is very common nowadays. But I bet you’ll change your mind when you learn that the couple is more than 60 years old, and that the car they were driving on this tour is a Citroen Fukang 1.4L, and that they drove the whole tour with no other companion but their dog.

You can imagine what a huge challenge this tour must have been for them. Here I just want to tell you one anecdote, to help you understand how they overcame the difficulties they met. When the couple arrived at Ba’er Cantonment (an army station), they stopped for a rest. Some soldiers came and chatted with them. The soldiers said there would be a very deep stream on their route which was impossible for their car to pass. It was so deep that even a Mistsubishi Pajero had stalled there and finally been dragged out the day before. Even worse, it had continued raining, so the water level would be even higher than it had been the day before. But the couple was not willing to quit. When they came to the stream, they found it was really too deep for their car to pass. But after observing for a while, they thought they might have found the key point and would have a possible solution. They went further down the stream, where the water had scoured out the rocks and formed a dam. Because of the dam, the water was flowing slowly, resulting in the high water level over the stream. So they removed the rocks and demolished the dam. Then the water upriver started to go through rapidly, the water level dropped and they drove their car cross the stream safely and smoothly.

Well, what I have told you is just a small piece from the old couple’s blog. At the beginning, I thought they must be crazy to make this tour. But the more I read, the more I was moved. Actually the whole blog not only displays their bravery but their wisdom. They have dreamed of driving through Xinjiang and Tibet for a long time. And they realized it would be a very dangerous thing for them. But they never gave up their dream. Instead, they prepared well for the tour. They drove themselves many other places in China, in order to learn more about automobiles, about the skills they would need to drive around the country, and to gain the experience that would help them deal with emergencies. They studied carefully all the articles and travel notes which they could find that might relate to their journey. During the trip, they met many unforeseen problems, but they were able to think out solutions for all of them. Based on the knowledge they’ve learned in their daily life, and their active thinking ability, the old couple has succeeded in making this incredible tour.

Well, I hope that my story will encourage everyone while we are climbing the Jiajin Mountain the day after tomorrow, to be as brave and intelligent as this old couple was. But what I am MOST EAGER to tell you is:

In your lifetime, please do NOT forget two things. One is to study, the other is to think.

This is what someone told me shortly after I joined eAero. In the past five years in eAero, I have found myself benefit much from this advice. And the story of the old couple has increased my understanding of the importance of these two factors. So I share it here with you in the hope that it will also be of help to you.

Go ahead, everyone: Study! Think! Prepare yourself! Fortune only favors prepared minds.

Thank you very much!
