Mao Zedong has an amazing life. He was born on December 26th, 1893, in a small village of Shaoshan, Hunan Province. His father was a peasant（农民）,but he was still able to send Mao to a good school.
Mao was like any other child until he was 17. Then, he moved to Changsha to study and heard about the revolutionary ideas of Chen Duxiu and Hu Shi. Mao started reading everything about them till 1918, when he heard about Communism（共产主义）. After that he quickly became one of the leading communists in the country.
In 1921,aged 27, Mao helped start the Chinese Communist Party.
Two years later, he became a member of the Party’s leading group. After 1949, when he founded the People’s Republic of China, Mao did much to free the country from hardships（艰难）. During the 1960s he made some mistakes, such as the “Cultural Revolution”, but he still did much good for his time.
Mao died in 1976, but the Chinese will always remember him. He will forever live in our hearts.
