你既然知道第一个用the,那定然是明白,这题意思.即这个meeting之前的交通和大雨,是他来晚的原因,而冠词是不能被and,来省略后面一个的,他要跟着名词走.很多情况都是这样的,比如形容词：beautiful women and handsome men are invited to 'I am singer II'.你不能说前面用了beautiful后面就不用handsome.
但其实这题,按美国人口语习惯,'a'是两个空比较好的回答,但是中国教育.你懂得.
因为这是特指不是泛指呀
