so就相当于中文的“所以”.如”他长的很帅,所以很多人喜欢他“."He is handsome so many people love him." 而so that 是表示以便,为了的意思,如“他用功读书,为了让他爸爸高兴”,"He studies very hard so that his father will be happy."
另要区分so that 和so.that.
so.that是表示如此．．．以致的意思． so that是连在一起用的,表示结果．如：我读更多的书,以便我能赶上我的同学．“I read more books so that I can catch up with my classmates.”so .that 是分开的,表示在什么条件下有的结果,that后加句子．如：“我太累了,以致我一吃完晚饭就去睡觉了．I was so tired that I went to bed as soon as I ate the supper.”
看“He is handsome so many people love him.”和” He is so handsome that many people love him.”
对了,so that=in order to do sth.
so因此,所以
so that以便, 为了...
so是用来修饰形容词或副词,而so that后要跟的是从句.
so作adv,表示程度意为“如此，非常，那么”，表示方式意为“这样，因此”
so作conj，意为“因而，所以”
