Cell phones are doing more and more these days including doubling as tiny cameras. For many people the camera feature sits unused. Luckily, it is surprisingly easy to take pictures with your phone. Once you have done it you will be snapping images with ease and still taking calls. Read on to learn how to take a photo with a phone.
Step 1,Make sure you have permission to take a picture. A number of places forbid camera phones.
Step 2,Take a minute to examine your phone. The locations of the buttons you will need can vary from phone to phone, so it is a good idea to just take a minute and get to know your phone.
Step 3,Look for a button with a camera icon on it. Some of these buttons are pretty tiny, so look closely. If you have a slide phone, be sure to check the buttons on the side of the phone as well.
Step 4,Locate the lens of the in-phone camera. If you have a slide phone, slide it open, and the lens will probably be on the back of the top half. If you have a flip phone, it is probably on the outside of the top half.
Step 5,Clean the lens as it can get dirty.
Step 6,Get close to your subject, if possible. Closer is better for the quality of the picture.
Step 7,Press the camera button. It probably won't take a picture right away. Instead, it will set you up to take the picture.
Step 8,Hold your phone up and point the lens at your subject.
Step 9,Look at your phone's screen. In some cases you can look at the screen on the cover of the phone where the time is displayed. This acts as your viewfinder. You may be able to zoom in and out by pressing buttons on the keypad or a touch pad. If this is a feature on your phone, look at the screen. Generally, icons for zooming will appear on the screen above the keys you should press.
Step 10,Take the picture by either pressing the camera button again or by pressing a "Select" or "OK" button. Most phones will make the familiar sound of a shutter opening and closing to let you know the picture has been taken.
Step 11,Look for the word "Save" on your phone's screen. Press the key below it to save your snapshot. You will be given an opportunity to name your snapshot and then save it to your phone. Try to rename your picture immediately to make it easier to find in the future. Or you can send it to someone by entering their phone number when prompted.
Step 12,Edit pictures later. Most phones do have editing features, but PC software is usually better. You will be surprised how different the picture looks on a computer monitor.
