标准翻译：
当被问到瘟疫爆发怎么办时,她说,“不用担心,科学家会找到一种方法,用计算机来解决问题.”看,这样好心的人根本就不明白为什么做生物医学研究.
我的问题是前半句 “ Asked what will happen when epidemics return ” 应该怎么理解?应该是“当被问到文艺爆发式应该怎么办” 疑问点在怎么办上,而我却将疑问点翻译到了什么时候上
还有scientists will find some way of using computers 这句我就看到了 “ 科学家找到了一些使用电脑的方法 ”,标准翻译中说到的“用计算机来解决问题”,这体现在哪了?
还有最后半句“Such well-meaning peoplejust don’t understand”,标准翻译中提到的“不明白为什么做生物医学研究”这就更让我摸不到头脑了,从哪翻译出来的?

首先说名一下,我的水平也不太高,我的想法仅供参考.
第一,when可以引导时间状语从句或者条件从句,但注意它只是从句,这句话的重点不是when return而是what will happen.
第二,way of 的句式是……的方法这个没有错,我认为可能是原句省略了to solve the problem,因为“找到使用计算机的方法”与上边联系不起来,感觉像是废话,就需要翻译润色.
最后一个问题我也不清楚,可能与上下文联系有关.
