How to improve English listening? English is one of the most important and useful language in the world. As we know, listening,reading,writing,speaking and translating are the five basic skills of students in English. Listening is used most widely in our daily life. About three quarters of an adult’s time concerns listening. So it plays the most important role in learning a foreign language. For English learners, if they want to learn English well, they must have a good ability of English listening comprehension. But for Chinese students it is difficult. In school the English teachers pay most attention to writing and reading, they ignore the listening. So when listening, the students find they can not understand what the speakers have said. Some students think they do not have enough vocabulary and the ability of telling the grammar construction, some think they do not understand the knowledge about linguistics and they are not able to tell the meaning of what they have heard.
