我只讲作动词“提供”讲时,它们的区别.
offer:英文解释是To present for acceptance or rejection,中文解释是：献,提供：呈给,以使对方接受或被对方拒绝,He offered me a job,but I didn't accept.
afford (vt.)“提供”,“供给”；可以带双宾语,一般只能用于抽象事物,还可以特指经济能力,指“供给”,或能“付出”一定的时间,在这种意义上,只能接在can或be able to之后.例如：He afforded me an opportunity.他为我提供了一个机会(暗含我接受了意味,区别于offer).经济方面的例子：I think I can afford this.我认为我可以负担得起.
provide (vt.)“供给”,“提供”；特指供给需要或有用的东西.例如：We provided them (with) board and lodging.我们给他们提供食宿.
supply (vt.) “供给”,“供应”；supply和provide 意义相近,都表“供给”.但牵涉到金钱时,provide往往含有“免费供给”的意味,supply一般需付钱,且不可有双宾语.例如：Cows supply us with milk.奶牛为我们提供牛奶.We are well supplied with foods.我们的食品供给充足.
