had given,主语是过去式,从句从原来的过去式变为过去完成时,表示过去的过去
没这种固定搭配吧?He is taller than any other of his class.
as often as he could 是个状语,表示尽可能地,你可以试图去掉后再看,he practice speaking english to improve his spoken english就好理解多了,to improve作目的状语.
amazing,amazed.  amazing通常用于表示令人惊讶的,amazed表示感到惊讶的,用法同exciting和excited.
应该是选A,make it可表示成功做某事或赶上.

He practise speaking english (as often as he could) to improve his spoken english.
improve 在这里是practice的目的,所以用不定时。
4. 形容词后面用ing还是ed是这样区分的:(以问题举例)
赵本山是被大家认为很厉害所以应该用amazing.而观众们是自己觉得他很厉害所以应该用amazed.
所以总结一下就是形容词修饰这个人或物是主动(ed)的还是被动的(ing)。(这个就是多做一做意会就好~)

解释: make it的意思很宽范,可以翻译成很多意思,但是他根本表达的就是成功的完成了,在这里指的是按时到校。
get it像这种带it的短语一般都很宽泛,但是就跟make it 一样,在宽泛也都万变不离其宗,就是得到的意思。
go off也有很多意思,这个你可以查查字典学一学,但是没有符合这句话的所以不对。
show up意思是出现,其实本来应该是可以的但是有一个 to 就不行了,语法过不去意思对也不可以。

he could和后面的句子不是同一个句子。as often as he could只是practise speaking english的状语,不是这个句子的谓语,当然不用动词原形。你已经初二了,做这种题要看全个句子,不能只看局部的单词。(就像一张白纸上有一个黑点,你不能只顾黑点不顾纸)
