Zarathustra提出了“精神的三种变形”这一重要思想.精神变成骆驼,骆驼变成狮子,狮子变成孩童,即精神-骆驼-狮子 孩童.精神变成骆驼的过程就是人被上帝的思想控制的过程,上帝要求人应该忍受痛苦和重负,应该怜悯帮助他人,应该为真理献身,在人间受苦方能死后进入天堂.所有的这些负荷都需要那内怀崇敬而能坚毅致远的精神来担负,因而精神就像负重的骆驼一样,疾步驶向人生的沙漠.在这个思想体系中,当下的人生是没有意义的,当下的人的一切活动都是为了死后能进天堂,这是Zarathustra反对的
精神颠覆了上帝,就要创造新的价值,但狮子没有这样的力量,他只能争取创造的自由,对上帝赋予人的一切加以神圣的否定.要创造新的价值,精神还需要进入第三个阶段,即“孩童”.为什么连狮子都无法做的事情,却让孩童来做呢?Zarathustra认为,这是因为孩童是天真而善忘的,就像精神摆脱上帝的思想束缚后的天真纯洁.另外,孩童又是新的开始,就像精神重获自由意志,重返自己的世界,开始一个新的历程.因而孩童是创造新价值的主体,是精神超越狮子后达到的一个更高的阶段.

Zarathustra proposes the important ideology of "The three metamorphosis of spirit". Spirit transforms into camel, camel transforms into lion and lion transforms into kid, which is spirit-camel-lion-kid. The process of the transformation to camel is the process in which human beings are controlled by the thoughts of the god. God requires people to endure pains and burdens, pity and help others, devote themselves to truth, suffer the hardness in the world to get in the heaven after death. The spirits of admiration,determination and perseverance are needed for all of these burdens. Therefore, similar as the burdened camel, spirit speeds to the desert of the life. In this system of idea, the life now is nonsense and all the activities are done for entering into heaven after death. This opinion is what Zarathustra disagrees with. The spirit overturns the god, so it need to create the new values. However, lion is not capable of this. It can only strive for the freedom of creation and hold negative but holy opinions to everything the god has endowed to human beings. To create values, spirit need to develop into the third period, which is "kid". What's the reason that something cannot be done by lion is given to kid? Zarathustra supposes that the reason is that kid is simple and forgetful, just similar as the pure and simple spirits of getting rid of the god's thoughts. Otherwise, kids are the new beginnings, similar as the spirits regains freedom, goes back to its own world and begins a new expedition. So kid is the main body of creating new values and a higher period which surpasses the lion.
