The storm system that brought cold,windy,wet,and in some locations snowy weather in the West yesterday will move into the Plains today.
Rain will spread from the Dakotas into the Upper Mississippi Valley this afternoon and evening.
Meanwhile,rain will mix with and change to snow in the western Dakotas today and tonight.
Rain will continue to spread east through the Great Lakes and Ohio Valley tomorrow and tomorrow night.
Another system will drop south from Canada mid to late week,bringing more rain and reinforce the cool temperatures across the region.
Highs today will range from the 30s in the western Dakotas to near 80 in the southwest corner of Kansas.

Showers and thunderstorms are possible across much of the South today.
In the Southeast,an area of low pressure at the surface will ride along a stationary front,enhancing the chance of rain across the Southeast.
In the Southern Plains,isolated storms are possible this afternoon and evening as the storm system moving out of the West begins to trigger some storms.
Storm chances increase into tomorrow over the Southern Plains and Lower Mississippi Valley as the system moves eastward,with a few severe storms possible as well.
Rain from this system will spread across the region on Wednesday as this system moves off the coast.
The next system heading south from Canada will bring rain and thunderstorms across the region late week and into the weekend.
Most areas are expected to be cool throughout the week,while much of the Florida Peninsula and South Texas will remain hot with near-record highs for much of the week ahead.
Highs today will range from the 50s in the Southern Appalachians to the upper 90s in the Lower Rio Grande Valley.

Rain and snow will continue throughout the day in the Northern Rockies and High Plains as a storm system moves out of the region and into the Plains.
Winds should not be as big of an issue as yesterday,but a few areas should remain breezy today.
Rain and snow should move out of the region by tomorrow,with Tuesday being a dry day over the region with cool temperatures expected region-wide.
A pair of systems will move south from Canada mid to late week bringing more rain and snow to the Northern High Plains and Rockies.
Chilly temperatures are expected to persist across the region through the weekend.
Highs today will range from the 20s in the higher elevations of Wyoming and Montana to the 80s in eastern New Mexico,southern Arizona,and southeastern California.

Showery weather is expected to continue over Northern New England and northern New York today and tonight from a lingering system over eastern Canada.
After a mainly dry and mild day tomorrow,the storm system moving into the Plains today will begin to move into the region tomorrow night and Wednesday bringing rain and wind to parts of the region before moving out Thursday.
More rain is expected Friday,with mainly dry weather on Saturday.
Highs today will range from the upper 40s in the higher elevations of Northern New England to the 70s near Chesapeake Bay.
