Now in his second NBA season,Yao is a dominating player who has helped transform the Houston Rockets into a playoff contender.Yao Ming also makes a big fortune after he proves that he is qualified as a NBA star.He maybe is the richest Chinese sport player.And thousands of Chinese young child want to be get the same success.However,his love to the motherland,never extinguished.Many young people love him and set him as a symbol,all the chinese are proud of him.he in turn feed back his deepest love to his countryman.
Yao has also participated in many charity events during his career,including the NBA’s Basketball Without Borders program.In the NBA's offseason in 2003,Yao hosted a telethon,which raised 300,000 U.S.dollars to help stop the spread of SAR.In September 2007,he held an auction that raised 965,000 U.S.dollars (6.75 million yuan),and competed in a charity basketball match to raise money for underprivileged children in China.He was joined by fellow NBA stars Steve Nash,Carmelo Anthony,and Baron Davis,and movie star Jackie Chan.After the 2008 Sichuan earthquake,Yao donated $2 million to relief work,and created a foundation to help rebuild schools destroyed in the earthquake.

Once, Yao pack up the worst first overall pick in the NBA, and even Charlie Barkley promised if Yao got over 20 points in this season, he would kiss the ass. This was a crul hit for a player just entered NBA, but Yao didn't give up, instead, he practised day and night. Finally, he shoot nine of nine against Lakers, and got 20 points. Charlie Barkley keep his promise and kissed a ass which would be one of the most funny joke in NBA. Then, Yao got better and better, he started to have some new skills, like left hand hook, baseline move, and dunk over people. He gave O'Neal 5 blocks who said he would beat Yao easily before the game when the Rocket against the world champion Lakers. After the first year, Yao can get average 13 points and around 8 rebound per game, shooting nearly fivety person. Then Yao got stronger and better, His stat up to 17+9 in the second year, and up to 18.5+8 in the third year and he got all those stat in 30 minutes which is amazing. This year Honstong made a big trade to got T-Mac which was the two NBAscoring champ. Yao and T-mac lead the Rocket team to get in the playoff, but unfortunetly, the Rocket loss 3-4 to the Mavs, and back to home in the first round. Then Yao suffered the injure, he missed about 30 games next three season, and Rocket keep falling in the first round. In 08-09 season was the most successful season for the Rocket because he got a smart trade to get Ron Artest, and Yao, T-Mac and Artest composed the big three to the rocket. But, unfortunetly, T-mac was injured, and Yao and Artest lead the Rocket keep moving and entered the playoff, the first round they faced trail blazers, a very young talent team lead by Brandon Roy, and Aldrige. Yao got 36 points and ten rebounds in the first game in potland, startled all the audience. Although after the first game, Yao had some frustration, struggling on the front defence, but Rocket beat the Blazers 4-2 and went to the second round first time in 12 years. Next round, they would face on the Lakers, a very experienced team lead by Kobe, Gasol. Yao Ming got 28 points and 10 rebounds in the first game beat the Lakers, but the bad things happen, Yao injured again, and the Rocket loss to the Laker 3-4.
Yao is the great player not showing on the basketball course, also he is the brige connect to western and eastern, most American don't know chinese very much, but Yao is the guy they can rely on to know more about chinese. A lot of NBA stars now have trip going to China, and have contract with chinese shoes company. Anyway, we are proud of Yao.
