later). Use of the first three of
these allows the maximum
amount of rainwater that encounters
the filtering unit to be
harvested while removing debris.
Use of first-flush devices is
important when rainwater is collected
without the use of gutter
leaf guards, leafslides, or rainheads,
or if the rainwater is to be
used for human consumption.
