　　两个介词放在一起使用才叫做介词连用.英语中也有介词连用的情况,但为数不多,如：

He ran out (from behind) the door.他从门后跑了出来.

He went (into inside) the room.他走进房间的最里面.

　　第一个例句中的 from behind 和第二个中的 into inside 就是两个介词连用,其中的 from 和into 都是动态介词,而 behind 和 inside 都是状态介词,也就是说,只有一个是动态介词另一个是状态介词的情况下,两个介词才有可能放在一起使用.

　　1、本句中的to the hip、in treatment和of a disease 是三个带有宾语的介词短语,不属于介词连用,而是不同修饰关系的介词短语连用.其中的 to the hip是incision 的后置定语,即“朝着臀部方向的切口”；in treatment是hip的后置定语,即“处于治疗过程的臀部”；of a disease 又是treatment 的后置定语,即“对疾病的治疗”.整个意思是“疾病治疗中朝着臀部方向的横向 L 型切口”.

　　2、如上所述,incision to the hip的意思是“朝着臀部方向的切口”,如果改为 hip incision,形容词hip的意思发生了改变,成了“赶新潮的切口”或“明智的切口”.即使用形容词 sciatic 修饰,也变成了“具有臀部特征的切口”,这是一种什么切口?驴头不对马嘴.因此,此处只能用to the hip后置修饰.
